Ingredients
  • Prepare your flame-proof dish or bowl to catch ash, and a candle to light your smudge stick.
  • Open the doors and windows of your room to make sure there is enough air and energy flow.
  • Recite your intention, prayer, mantra, or chant. You may do this aloud or in your thoughts.
  • Light your smudge stick, then extinguish once the fire grows by pressing it on your dish. Cleanse your Self, your room, your objects with the white sacred smoke. Feel yourself release energy, then gather yourself with all five senses.
  • Store your smudge stick, herbs, and resins in a cool dry place for your next usage. Always trim the burnt edges of your smudge stick before lighting again.
